A cellulose-based ethanol plant is being built in the very north part of L.A. County. Once this technology catches on, we'll be able to make lots of ethanol without using corn.

Like that is going to keep Americans from being fat - the cheapest foods in Supermarkets are still those packed with lots of cheap fa, corn based sweetners, and lots of sodium.
Hell, expensive gas is more likely to led to thinner Americans than expensive corn right now - in fact, expensive gas is more likely a cause for less money spent on food.
