Motivation: Well, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, the defendant believes the Beatles are the angels who are referred to in the Book of Revelations. He believes they sent him secret instructions in their White Album to start a race war that would lead to the Apolicalypse. So he sent his followers, who believe he is Jesus Christ, out to commit two horrendously bloody multiple murders.

BTW: Prosecutors in L.A. don't get to choose the cases they're assigned to.

The reason the news isn't covering it is because this isn't news. I mean, seriously. "A guy says that all the stuff we've known about for years may mean Bush is guilty of murder!"

Yes and since he's a prosecutor that has won 21 out of 21 murder trials, whatever he writes must be true. And if that's not enough proof he's won awards given to fiction writers. I don't know how anyone could doubt him.

That's not the point. And since I've never read the book, for all I know, everything in it may be true. It just that saying it must be true because he's a successful prosecutor means nothing. Or that he's won awards for fiction writing that it's true means nothing.

And that's the first two sentences in the article. The author is using those to establish credibility, and they do no such thing. I think that's deceitful writing and it makes me extra suspicious of anything that follows.

That's the only point I'm tying to make. I am not judging the contents of the book since I have no knowledge of it.

You're making one of the stupidest arguments from authority ever. It's not only blatantly fallacious, the guy doesn't have that much authority in the first place!
