Newsweek's Michael Hirsch wrote a pretty interesting editorial piece about the case here . I tend to agree with him.

Ultimately, it's a hollow victory for which the United States has, most unfortunately, sacrificed virtually all of it's credibility and moral standing. I give a lot of credit to the JAG appointed to hear this case, as well as the panel members. I'm sure the pressure to deliver a guilty on all counts verdict was substantial.

Bin Laden better be glad we didn't get his chief cook and bottle washer.

Wow, oh, wow! So the "military tribunals" Cheney fought so long and hard for (because he thought real courts would be to soft) sentenced this guy to 5.5 years or in other words he'd get out later this year due to time served. Well, no we have yet more proof this was a show trial because now the Administration is saying they're going to ignore the results of even their own show trials.

Yes, that's right folks the Bush Administration now wants to ignore the results of they're own fake trail and now want to just hold prisoners for the rest of their life without charges or even the pretense of legality.

I have an idea! Let's hold show trials where all fairness or objectivity are thrown out the window, allow defendants no rights to defend themselves ("we know they're all guilty anyway. I mean Bush doesn't make mistakes... Oh he was wrong about the majority of people held in Gitmo?"), and then when even this rigged system doesn't give us what we want let's just ignore the result and hold them for life anyway.

I know I feel this system is completely fair and impartial. I mean who really needs the rule of law anyway?

            I already pointed that out.
Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...
