That's certainly a problem for all automakers. It's not particularly a problem for GM and Ford. Rather, their ****ty cars, ****ty management, and ****ty labor deals are.The biggest problem is that the credit crunch has made it virtually impossible for people to buy cars. Credit markets still are working because banks still aren't lending.

I'm not sure that's true given that Toyota and Honda were both down 20%-30% last month. Lay offs are spreading accross the industry even to Japanese makers.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.Comment

Apparently, the car companies now want a total of $75 billion in loans. $25 billion for fuel efficiency (already appropriated), $25 billion for health care costs, and $25 billion for general liquidity.
