German Police vs US Police

I just saw this video on youtube...

The police is searching for a robbery suspect and than discovers an illegal alien in this turkish community (the old guy at the window). The situation escalats

Watching it just made me think how calm the police here in germany is... What do think how would the incident have evolved would it had happend in the US?



I mean no tasers? Not even battons?? Come on!

Why do the cops care if he's illegal and how do they even know? Was he drawing attention to himself? Please explain for us non-Deutchlanders.

He was involved in some crimes (its not mentioned which exactly) and thus he lost his residency permit. He was in hiding and somehow the police that were searching for someone else discovered he lived also there. So as he is not allowed to live in germany anymore they wanted to arrest him and send him back to turkey... his family and friends didnt like it

Are these doughnut-eating local cops or something? You wouldn't see cops in the U.S. getting in getting beat in a melee like this....

And I also wondered why those other cops are just standing at the side and dont do much to protect their collegue, wtf?

What do you think of this video?

It is of a cop in Argentina fighting against a drunk guy, also very high, a completely wasted guy, probably someone who inhales glue and smokes crack regularly, whose brain has been forever ruined.

The guy was walking on the middle of an evenue bothering the cars. Some woman called a cop.

The cop was actually critiziced because the junkie managed to hit him, the consensus is the cop did not fight very well. I think that is unfair to the cop. He was rather ridiculized by the media.





By the way, that woman is annoying,

I think the response would probably be similar in the UK, unless he was running and on the underground, in which case he'd have been shot at point blank range...

Although saying that, they'd have called in assistance and you could have expected a few cracked skulls at that point.

In the US anyone who assaults a police officer would be arrested right then and there plus they'd likely get several years in prison as assaulting an officer is a felony in most states. Cops are allowed to use "proportional force" to respond to people being physically violent though in reality this often means the offender gets hit in the head with a billy club. If there was a riot then they would video tape everything then later identify each person involved and work to arrest them individually after the riot was over.

Lesson learned is don't attack a cop. You Germans need to grow a pair.

To be fair, Americans are considerably more violent than most other peoples, and so if the cop doesn't use all necessary force, he or others could be killed. Other countries don't seem to have that problem.

It actually takes more courage to not use taser/gun againsts someone, shouldn't you know restraining is 100 times harder than using excessive force? Cops are almost always more or less scared because they know the chances in situations.
