So do EU states with the US, but they won't extradite anyone who would face the death penalty in the US.
Those restrictions are normally clearly spelled out in the extradition treaties that a government has agreed upon. So I ask again is there an exception carved out in the treaty with Liechtenstein that covers such crimes as this?

They aren't always spelled out (I believe refusal to extradite people who may face the DP wasn't when the EU countries first started to refuse). There is a reason for outrage at times when states refuse to extradite individuals.

Guys like him should get punished.
No, guys like him turn states evidence, make some money, and get relocated.
I couldn't really give two ****s about your opinion of the country because it isn't relavent to this conversation.
Actually, it is, since it is this countries' laws that were broken.

Actually it is nice to see those who are evading tax get a bit of payback. They make money off our countries (whether it be the US, Germany or UK) and as such, they should pay their dues like everyone else does. Nice to see that someone is willing to squeal on them, and may more people have the protection of the law for doing this!

So DinoDoc is on the side of the tax cheats? No surprises there. The clerk should get a Presidential Freedom Medal since Bush has been handing those out like water.

He's already made his money selling the list. I'm not sure if that reward of half the amount defrauded is urban legend
It's not. They've done news stories on people who've exposed those defrauding the government. The catch is the government has to actually recover the money.

It seems to me that anyone affected by this has a pretty ironclad civil action against both this individual and possibly even the bank in question.
That would be like going to the police to charge someone with stealing your drug money.

No, DD is correct. If the Fed's had hacked into this bank to get those records, the evidence would be thrown out. This guy, however, wasn't acting as an agent of the state, so the evidence is in.
Since the laws of Lichtenstein are designed to help people break the laws of other countries, though, I suspect they will get little to no consideration.

Imran, you don't file the lawsuit in US court, you file it in Liectenstein's jurisdiction. Also, why would he be shielded by US law in a civil action?
So he'll never go back to Lichtenstein to have to worry about having to pay whatever fine their government might impose. I'm sure he'll be quite happy to live in the U.S. with the millions or even billions he has helped the Feds to recover. Remember, he gets half!

I've yet to see any real confirmation of that. It (him getting half) sounds like an urban legend. You blew your credibility already so I'm gonna have to ask for a link to a source that confirms this.

Actually, this guy might not be covered under the False Claims Act.
