Wiping everything down with bleach either got rid of the smell or killed my ability to smell.
I won't cook fish again. I haven't had any fish since I was a kiddo. I like it but there is no way I want my house to smell like that again.

I cook a lot of fish. I stick with basa and tilapia, and most of the time there's no odor left when it's cooked. I usually do some turkey bacon and mushrooms in the same frying pan first, to give the oil some taste before the fish goes in.
If I'm doing Chinese cooking, I usually steam my fish. This works well with whole fish, like rockfish and bass and trout, but it can also do well with cross section steaks, like mackerel. If you do this, cover the fish with sliced spring onions and ginger and a bit of soy sauce, then steam the fish for a fairly brief time - 5 mins to 10 mins."lol internet" ~ AAHZComment
