      Right. I was actually thinking a bit more more quantitatively - as in resources required based on estimates of stochastic variables.

      We're trying to build a model in Excel but it's rather complicated and I gather there is a whole industry dedicated to this subject, with specialised software, consultancies etc.

      We have a map of the task flow in Visio, but the fun bit is grappling with lag due to bottlenecks, and production deadlines.
