I don't know how many of you recall but our mom breeds Irish wolfhounds. I'm back in Chicago for awhile and at her place for now. The dogs (3 of them) stay downstairs in the same room with the computer.
Today her friend, who also breeds wolfhounds, brought over her pregnant dog and we built a whelping pen on the main floor (had to move one couch- and no it's not convenient). Figured that we had ~1 week before she gave birth so she stayed with the other dogs for now. Mostly finished the pen except didn't caulk the sides.
So anyways I'm on the computer tonight and go upstairs to get a coke. COme back downstairs not 5 minutes later and there's a mess on the floor and what the **** is that oh **** mom! At 1st I thought it was stillborn b/c it wasn't moving but it was and is fine. In fact the little bugger is quite strong for a newborn pup, managed to crawl out of a small basket we put her in! At this moment we are up to 3 healthy pups and at least 1 more on the way. Should be a long night.
Oh yeah her friend is here now, she's a veternarian so all is in good hands.

That's what we asked each other. Their were a total of 12 pups, one didn't survive 
but the fact that the other 11 did is quite an accomplishment. 5 boys, 6 girls.
