In Atlanta, Pride is during July 4th weekend this year.

Usually it would have been this weekend, but because of the drought, they had to relocate and it was easier to get the space (Civic Center as opposed to Piedmont Park) during July 4.

A word of advice, Imran: the tight, gold shorts are out.

This is beyond my area of expertise. Better ask our gay pundits.

While that is a terrific Onion article, it does of course miss the point of pride parades.

The Pride parades are about celebrating difference and being proud of doing what people want to do rather than conforming to social norms. So while some gays (myself included) lead pretty much normal lifestyles I still find it fun and interesting to see people out there doing what they want to do, without a care in the world for what you may think about it.
"The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."
Ben Kenobi: "That means I'm doing something right. "

Have you ever gone to any Quad City Flames games? I was wondering where that actually was.

You gotta keep me up to date on how our prospects are doing.
I don't follow any sports, so you're asking the wrong person about the local sports teams here.

Yeah, I knew it was going to be this weekend. Given that Quad Citians often feel they compete with Chicago if both areas have gay pride events on same weekend, Quad Cities pride festival went well in this case.

Oh, and I found out that two or three local news stations gave positive coverage of our festival, along with at least two local newspapers.

I missed the Oklahoma City march. I didn't know when it was. I need to get connected with the liberals here. Maybe I'll move downtown.

Anyway, anything that pisses Wiglaf off is way cool man.
