Both cookies and cookie dough have their place. Cookie dough is generally better than the cookie, but that's probably because we have cookies more often than cookie dough. If we ate cookie dough all the time, and only rarely cookies, we'd have a thread about why we don't bake the dough more often, because cookies are better than dough...
And the risk of eating cookie dough is over-stated.
Has anyone else bought a roll of pillsbury cookie dough and just eaten the whole thing? (It was one of the small 4-inch rolls, not the big ones.) I did that once while on a long drive. It was good.
