Are you implying that there was something substantive I could've responded to?
Sure, you could have pointed out the specific parts where Jon made a valid critisism/rebutal.

I never said I agreed with this guys book/views, only that Jon's performace was sub par given what I have seen him do before.

Some people have the idea that as long as they keep making noise they should be debated or their "ideas" should be analyzed and wasted time on, attention feeds them, not the pursuit of truth.

          and most importantly

then Jon is on the losing end, especially since he can do sooooo much better, and has in other interviews.

I haven't read his book. In fact, the only words of his I have ever read/heard come from this thread. His point about the misuse of the words fascist and liberal (and socialism, and communism, and conservative) rings true, however, and I have watched posters on this very board from all sides point this out.

Neither of that changes the fact that Jon's performance was subpar, either because this guy has good ideas or because Jon failed to adequately point out he didn't.

Well duh. Carlin is a liberal. Although I use points from people who are considered conservative at times it's only when conservatives themselves don't understand their own ideology, and I never create an argument based on only conservative ideas. That would be folly.

He said organic food is fascist and worse he said that fascism is organic because it takes a holistic view point. Both claims are so ridiculous how could you expect anything worth a **** to come from this man?

Are you suggesting that Carlin would have agreed with your political stances? How far apart can two individuals be politically before they're no longer allowed to cite each other?

I haven't seen the whole Daily Show interview--only the edited version that appeared on the show itself--but it seems to me that, when dealing with someone sufficiently ridiculous, intelligent criticism would be needless. It'd be like pouring water on a drowning man, and you'd look almost as silly as him for apparently failing to realize you're dealing with a manifest loon. Give him enough rope to hang himself, as the saying goes.

Like I was saying, you seem to be under the illusion that what you wrote (Stewart used profanity and made non-sequiturs that you chose not to specify) was somehow substantive.

I'm not inclined to parse the interview to prove such an obvious point. Certainly not without you going through the exercise first.

Although I can't remember the specific reference to Carlin that Goldberg uses I'm sure Goldberg twisted Carlins words. That's really my point.

As far as Carlin and I being like-minded I'm pretty sure we are in many ways, but not all.

Why would you have to do anything? Anyone with any brains should know already that he's a loon.

It is certainly more so than an effectivly "OMFG STEWIE PAWNZ!!!" comment.

Though it hardly matters either way.

It has more words, true... Regarding substance, not by much. Hence my comment.

I don't think its as much "Stewie pawnz" as "OMG, Self pwnage!"

I think that's right, and that's how many conservatives will look at what he's saying. If I were a conservative I would be speaking out, saying that this person doesn't speak for me. When he said, "Liberalism is nice fascism," It strikes me that this guy is against being nice, or at least that it doesn't have anything to do with his beliefs, which is just as bad. At it's heart, fascism has one defining characteristic, which is more defining that being socialistic, it's that it's very mean. It's the most authoritarian ideology out there. And in that sense, it is very anti-liberalism.

False, you don't have to think very hard to come up with far more authoritarian systems. This stuff is not hard to slam (I read a bit more), but unfortunelty you fail at this. That probably has something to do with you bieng a lunitic of the same level.
