Thanks a lot, the problem was just the power button header was in the wrong spot on the motherboard. Another question though, does the PSU fan generally point inward to the motherboard or out of the case? The latter seems impossible for me but blowing hot air into the computer seems retarded.
I've done that multiple times as well... annoying korean documentation
The second question isn't necessarily easily answerable... my PSU, for example, has TWO fans; one that pulls air from inside the case, and one that pushes air to the outside (one on the 'front', one on the 'back').
However, it's pretty hard to get this wrong, since there should be only one way to put the PSU so that the plug is correct
If it's blowing inward, as many (most?) do, it will be blowing air typically straight down, or in a position where the air will go down - and then out the case through the case's natural air flow (out the back of the case), so it's not actually heating up the computer (much, anyway).

Mine's definitely blowing air up. it's a bottom mounted PSU..I assume I'm not suppposed to flip it over and blast air into the bottom off into the case.
The air should definitely not blow up into the case wall (ie, not really blowing anywhere). If it's one that has the output on the (bottom/top), bottom is the correct answer; as I said, it's not really blowing into the CPU area, what it's doing is blowing air into the general air-leaving-mass-of-air.
If you blow it straight into the case wall, your PSU will overheat as the air won't leave
Think of the airflow of the case like this:
Code:
________
>P C |
<v <v |
<G < <
| S^< <
--------
C=CPU, G=Graphics/Video Card, S=Sound Card, P=PSU; < and v show airflow.
The air flows from the front of the case (right side), to the back of the case (left side), and somewhat up usually. Many cases now also have some air coming in from the non-MB side panel, but it just contributes to this. The CPU fan blows air up off the MB towards the 'open air' area, and the front and back pushers/pullers pull air in from the front and force it out the back (these should be large, 120mm fans, if possible).
The PSU and the CPU take air and insert it into that stream, so that the airflow is consistent. The PSU will bring air in from the back and push it out down the case, usually, allowing it to go out a bit further down.
Fan pointing up (towards a case wall) is definitely bad.

Why does Windows rate the video card a 1.0. It's a geforce 8800 gs, which while not top of the line is not 'basic MS word and that's it' either. I wonder what would happen if I tried to run a game on it? I'm not in tune for pornography please people
