Fully supported by the quoted text. The big differnce is the wedding guests weren't firing at the US soldiers while this guy obviously was aiming his flashbang at the farmers livelyhood.

Not sure about this particular case but usually in the mideast and places like Afghanistan is for people to have "celebratory fire" meaning they fire their guns in the air to celebrate. I could see how that could be misinterpreted.
