That, and the fact that nobody mistook this as anything other than what it was, and that flashbangs are nonlethal and AKs aren't, the soldier was a clearly identified combatant (its a funny thing we Americans do), etc.

For the record, if that farmer had fired back at the Marine I wouldn't hold it against him.
