this is just 2 miles from my office and work maboard here on a daily basis.

The point I believe I was making versus Spike, was that the flag raisers were two white and one Indian, Native American type.

I have heard some descrepancies i exactly who raised the flag, but historically, never heard that a colored boy (and that was the term back then) or Black man was involved in the actual raising of the flag.

I have the utmost respect ofr the American Fighting men and women of our country. I too am a veteran.

I am not demeaning any group of people.

What i am taking offense to is that Spike Lee trying to play the race card on Clint.

Grandpa Troll, speaking as a poster and not a mod, I also was uncomfortable reading you posting style in this thread to the point of being offended. I think there are many other ways you could have made your point without resorting to the style you did.

And for the record, I agree that Spike was probably wrong on this one also. (you never know if you have the full story or not, but assuming we have enough to judge on this one)

Yes he was joking, and I usually don't have a problem with people mocking southerners but I didn't get the same vibe here. Calling a black man an idiot using a southern twang isn't the same thing. A touch too close to reality which I didn't consider funny. Just a PERSONAL observation. Which actually surprised me too since I usually also don't have a problem with people mocking Spike Lee. I guess it was just the combination that creeped me a bit.

My issue was the use of the two in combination. It made you sound more racist than anything you were accusing Spike of. Joke or not. I also didn't pass judgement on it. I just noted that personally it made me uncomfortable. When I'm trying to make a point or win an arguement, it not a good idea to make the person you're trying to convince uncomfortable, so I was just commenting on your style. Don't read too much into my comments.

Note: he was using some terms that could be considered either black slang/drawl.

I wouldn't make fun of a russian using a crappy russian accent to his face either.
