Anyone else note that she suspended her campaign, not ended it?
Probably so she can legally continue to accept donations to pay off her debt.Today, you are the waves of the Pacific, pushing ever eastward. You are the sequoias rising from the Sierra Nevada, defiant and enduring.

I don't think he knew he could veto a spending bill. But did GWB cause that with his administration?

Hillary Clinton on Obama:

[q=Grandpa Troll]May be that many people would feel that the working class already funds too many "give-fare" programs as a way of life instead of what the welfare system was designed to do, "help" not build a family tree of recepients..............
I work hard for my money and do not feel our government should waste it on no count lazy azz people...including the government funding other governments in their plight.
How about helping the American worker?[/q]
I think electing Senator Clinton (and even Senator Obama) would have helped the American worker FAR more than President Bush has done.
I think the polls show that you are incorrect that either Clinton or Obama wouldn't be ready because many people think we are spending too much on welfare. The polls are showing that the American people want more federal control on the health care system. Universal health care is not a four letter word anymore, but a large number of Americans are voting for it!
In fact, they aren't giving it to lazy ass people, but rather to American workers, who are getting screwed by the insurance companies (and yes, I am for a more comprehensive federal health care solution to our health care problem).
Maybe the worst thing we can do for the American worker is for the government to stop helping them out and stop backing them and rather leave them to the wolves.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Welfare (i.e. TANF) is ~$20 billion/year. Iraq is ~$300 billion/year. One number is a wee bit more significant than the other."Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before. Welfare?!
No?
Hey, ending that Iraq War thing may help pay for teh programs!
I do hope that Senator Clinton keeps fighting for universal health care. Senator Obama may not want to make everyone take heath insurance coverage, but I think its necessary to keep costs down (sure young people don't think they need insurance, but then they get into an accident and all of a sudden, they are a drain).“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Regarding mandates, he endorsed a form of it (penalties for later enrollment to deter free riding), and has said that he's open to the traditional kind if necessary to create a universal system.
But I think that the health care plan that Obama signs will look a lot more like what Wyden is working on (which has a few conservative Republican cosponsors) that what any of the Dem candidates have advocated (which are all quite similar, actually). He'd (as would have Clinton) be happy with anything reasonable (and the Wyden plan qualifies) that can get out of Congress, I'm sure.
Daschle reportedly wants HHS instead of Chief of Staff, which would be a good sign for health care reform."Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before.
