Senator Hillary Clinton ends campaign; endorses Obama
The picture of Hiilary on nytimes.com right now 'embracing' a supporter is pretty frightening. The supporter prolly pulled her off balance but it looks like some serious passion.
I'm consitently stupid- Japher I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

ZOMFG!!!! You're a god-damn liar! Hilary has SUSPENDED her campaign -- technically, she has not permanently ended her campaign! Your thread title is a ZOMFG atrocious violation of morals and honesty!
A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

Thank you, Hillary, for running a strong, powerful campaign and for going farther than any woman has gone in a Presidential primary. You will be an inspiration for generations of women in the future.
"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."--General Sir Charles James Napier
I have to say, I can not for the life of me accept Hillary as a viable option to lead America
Nor can I accept Obama
I just dont see America eready for either minorities.
Maybe fear, may be rascism
May be that many people would feel that the working class already funds too many "give-fare" programs as a way of life instead of what the welfare system was designed to do, "help" not build a family tree of recepients..............
I work hard for my money and do not feel our government should waste it on no count lazy azz people...including the government funding other governments in their plight.
How about helping the American worker?
This has to do with Hillary and Obama how?
I dont feel either one was what it would take to lead our government
I have to say, I can not for the life of me accept Hillary as a viable option to lead America
Nor can I accept Obama
I just dont see America eready for either minorities.
Grandpa -- Our government is running, by far, the biggest deficit in history.
The federal budget has increased more than 50% under the current administration. ($2.0 trillion in 2001; $3.1 trillion currently). And much of the cost of the war in Iraq isn't even "on the books."
The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates that the President's FY2009 budget proposals would provide $188 billion in budget authority for FY2008. CBO estimates that appropriations for operations in Afghanistan and Iraq since 2001 through February 2008 total $752 billion.

We have actual numbers to show how much of your hard-earned money is being thrown to the four winds. If you're happy about how your tax dollars are being used, I'm cool with that. But to imply that Hillary or Obama would be less fiscally responsible -- which frankly, would be difficult -- is utterly without factual basis.
Saying "America" isn't ready for a woman or a black as President is just code for "I'm not ready."
Man up and admit it.

But money spent on a needless war is fiscally responsible, while easing the burden of those Americans who are struggling isn't.

my goodness, I just said I couldnt not see this as a viable option.
I also said America is not ready
In the world of Chicago Illinois, do the realities of such opinions not make it into your earshot or view?
I am not speaking "code"
Heck, I do not even agree with how we elect a President
Dear -Jrabbit, let not your heart ever be troubled, I am plenty man enough to say what I feel without hiding behind any such code as you suggest
I have put some relish and garnish on what i feel America, and by America i mean all those citizens that dwell here, not just those highly educated, highly socialized good folks some may hide behind, no my friend, I am speaking of good old boys, special interests groups for two examples, that would have something to say about these.
We live in the USA, and do have Freedom of Speech, to a certain extent.
Actions do speak louder than words, i say that America is not ready and thats a smal portion of one unimportant persons opinion.
I do thank you for proof reading my personal opinion and then changing it so you feel comfortable with it.
Thats why I allways enjoy posting here, plenty of good folks to tell ya how you really feel versus how you actually post.

I agree that this war in some aspects is needless.
I also agree that helping ease the burden of those Americans struggling is also necessary.
My concern is that since many folks feel that electing a minority (actually a white man is getting to be the minority in America, sooner, rather than later) is the way to go, I am concerned that this will be yet another platform to subsidize more irresponsibile funding.
And for the record, as -Jrabbit points out there is enough deficit now in place.
But did GWB cause that with his administration?
Or are we as Americans simply paying the piper for years of cutting military spending, now we are playing "catch up"?
But, as to not stary too far from the intent of the OP, I say the democrats split hairs and now as we draw closer to actually having a "single" candidate, I stand on the belief that America is not ready for Hillary or Obama
My concern is that since many folks feel that electing a minority is the way to go, ...I am concerned that this will be yet another platform to subsidize more irresponsibile funding.
On what basis? Seriously, what makes you think this will happen?
And what does "minority" have to do with federal spending?
