And you, of course, were doing so much to keep it off life support
If at first you don't succeed, take the bloody hint and give up.

Nobody wanted to talk about drunken bus drivers. I thought Asher would at least bring up the training and skill involved for the job but he didn't.

Wezil and Asher have been struggling mightily to keep this one going. But my reaction to a drunk TTC driver?

"Driving in Toronto for a living would make me drink, too."

I don't have a kind thought for GM or unions, so I will give that one a big, yawning pass as well.

I've got another Cdn topic but it has to wait until tomorrow.

It's so easy a guy with triple the legal limit could do it. But not Ben.

              (Is that mean?)

                I can post it now.

No, you will definitely not like the topic. ORD may find it interesting however.

Yes, that was mean. And it was exactly what I was thinking.

Back on topic, this reminds me of a bus trip I took when I lived in the 'burbs of Vancouver. I was working a graveyard shift in Richmond and took the bus from South Delta, about 15ish miles away, most of it highway. When I got on the bus, the driver was hunched over with one hand on the fare box. He looked like he could barely see me standing in front of him. He drove so erratically that he basically took up 2 lanes down the highway, swerving the whole way. I have no idea how he actually made it through the tunnel under the Fraser without crashing into the walls. Going through Richmond was pretty much the same; fortunately it was mostly 4 lane roads most of the route.

The only reason I didn't get off or call the cops was because that would have meant me being late for work. My boss was a real *****.

I now return you to Wezil jacking his own thread and Asher *****ing like a whiny child about unions.

They're throwing tantrums because they can't get guaranteed job security.

They don't know how good they have it.

As I recall, they did get guaranteed job security in the contract they signed 2 weeks ago.

                              So what?

A couple of my friends signed 2 year job contracts and were laid off last month, about 4 months into them.

This **** happens, get over it.

I've been in the US investment bank world the past couple years and I've seen TONS of people being laid off. Some of them are contractors with basically the same situation (they signed 1 or 2 year contracts, they got terminated early) and others were full time employees. This kind of **** is happening all around me and happens all the time, but when it happens to unionized people they start *****ing and moaning and crying and stomping and asking for the government to bail them out. What *****es, honestly.

Note: I also say this with relatives who work at the auto plants in Ontario, though none at GM. The stories I hear about the **** they get away with.
