Ohh good lord it was Byrd that was upset, prolly due in large part to his inbred lack of humor.

      Why not?

And his comment about not running for office makes it clear that he knew exactly what he was saying and how it would be taken.

Its ok -Jrabbit, I am not 110 % sold either way, its just that its mighty funny when and what people take exception to.

Whats funny to one is not funny to another.

Heck, if it werent this then someone else would find something to fuss about.

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

Yes, but we just shorten that to politician here in the US.

                        Cheney

He's brought more gravity (weight) and I'd say even charisma, to the VP position than anyone since Nixon.

Look on the bright side. This is probably the best indication that he won't run in any more elections at his advanced age. Time for very lucrative consulting gigs, where you don't care what the hicks in WV think.

And yes, I think only the whole state of WV should be insulted, not all americans.

He doesn't need to run. He's made untold amounts of money for his cronies, and can now retire and take up his place amongst them (and say whatever he wants... and shoot whomever he wants, I figure).

Why retire. He'll make load of money on company boards where he won't have to do anything. It's a great racket for people like him.
