It seems that all the opposition (be it violent or not) against the current Afghan government is labeled Taliban. It doesn't matter if certain factions used to fight the Taliban previously or not.
News here over the operation of the Dutch in Afghanistan is spiced up with 'Taliban this' and 'Taliban that'. But there is really very little evidence that actually links the opposition to Mullah Omar and his ilk.

'Widely insinuated' would have been a better choice of words.

I am pretty sure I told you this two years ago, but for two years it has not been policy to keep a carrier in constant rotation in the 5th fleet. They usually pass each other in the Med these days when turning over.

And then for a while they were keeping two carriers in the Gulf, and last year they tried to up it to three. They are now down to one, which may indicate a de-escalation on our part. One can hope.
