That Merkel IS Hitler? Get real.
Within weeks they'll be re-opening the shipyards

That Merkel belongs to the same ideology as Hitler.

It's the god given right of every person to troll the Germans about Nazism.

She's a kraut. They're all Hitler. Ask any England football fan.

I don't see anything bad in the comparison Chavez drew.

It's not really bad, rather stupid. And if intl politics is primarily about calling eachother stuff it will certainly achieve a lot

Yeah, because socialism is sooooo right wing.
It's completely retarded but several right wing radio hosts in America are claiming fascism was really a Socialist, I.E. leftist, ideology. It's, of course, stupid for anyone who has ever taken a political science class but many Americans are ignorant people (I'm sure this is a shocking revolution for you to hear). In fact on the forum for my local newspaper there are numerous posters who routinely claim fascists are really leftists and not rightists.

Talk about a world turned upside down.

No! A stupid politician? Impossible! ... oh, wait ...

If I had an Euro for every incident where the German Left is called the "party of the Berlin Wall murderers" or similar, I would be filthy rich. Such comparisons are pretty common hereabouts. That doesn't make them any less stupid, though (you sure are right about this). Besides, he's kind of right, too: A lot of former members of the Zentrum party joined the CDU, and Zentrum without doubt did vote Hitler into power.

It's the oldest trick in the book: accuse your opponent of doing the thing you are doing but want to hide. That's why the right spend all their time talking about "racist" policies like affirmative action. You see, Barack Obama is being smeared as a racist by the very people who don't want a black president.

Which is why Chavez is using Hitler in the same sentence with Merkel

Nine times out of ten, fascism is just a nasty epithet people use when they don't like something. So if the true or exact meaning has been lost, maybe you should look to the Soviet propaganda machine that would label anything it didn't like fascist, instead of American ignorance. You're all educated folks, so I'm sure you know all about Politics and the English Language.

Fascism, near as my tiny American brain can figure out, is all about conformity and unity under a strong government. A single stick is easily broken, while a bundle tied together are much stronger.

To an American, this is very suspicious. Strong governments often become abusive, if not because of official policy, then because of the corruption of petty bureaucrats. Leftism goes hand in hand with a totalitarian government, because a strong private sector is an effective check on government power. This leads us back to Chavez's campaign to weaken all power blocks not associated with his government; including the TV stations, the Church, and many other private businesses.
                        John Brown did nothing wrong.

You can do better than that. How many times has he been subject to elections and referenda again?

That ass talkin' thing is doing you no good.

Well, I guess if you are on the same political side as Aggie, you can get away with murder if you want.
