Apolyton Poker Tournament?

Do we have enough online poker players here who would be up for an online tournament? I'm thinking set up a private room at one of the sites - PokerStars, Pokerroom, wherever - and do maybe a $25US "Sit 'n Go" tournament.

Would anyone be up for that? If we can get at least 8 or so, let's set it up, although I'd love to get more!

I'd probably do that, although not if it requires setting up a pay-poker account. I don't mind the money, but I would mind the legality of it (and the bank account information stuff). In my state, at least, it's legal to play poker for money if the host doesn't collect any fee, but somehow I doubt Pokerstars or whatever would agree to that

I would, but with the new laws controlling transfers and whatnot, I just don't see how it is feasible.

I suppose we could always do it on a 'free' site and then transfer the money after the fact via paypal etc.... or ahead of time to a trusted party. That would be legal so long as nobody takes a cut.

Well, gambling is illegal in the US. That's never changed.

Even in Nevada, internet gambling is illegal, because it's an unlicensed facility (unless it's an in-nevada facility, I suppose, but why bother doing it on the internet?).

Done some tournaments in the past, all freebie type.

A minor correction.
For instance, card games at the American Legion, or anywhere else, are fine; the stipulation being that the facility doesn't get a cut. It's all distributed among the players.
