LTC is a waste of time, why are you going?

I would like to be a knight. Honestly I would be happier just getting my Soldiers British medals and getting Brits US medals than getting anything for myself.

I have to, since I didn't start in my freshman year, but started halfway through school.

That's stupid. You could have made more money by going to basic/AIT and getting credit that way. Plus you could commission with ribbons and whatnot.

This was the only option offered to me for the ROTC 2 year scholarship

The better option could have been to go to basic/AIT (for whatever MOS you want) in the natty guard, then immediately contract afterwards. You would still get money from ROTC (not as much as a scholarship) but you would also get a signing bonus from the guard. In addition, you would get to benefit from the GI Bill in paying for grad school.

LTC allows students to keep going to college as normal and commission as officers on graduation. I don't know what the hell you're recommending but it would interrupt that.

No, you can completely both basic and some AITs in one summer between college.

LTC is only four weeks in the summer and then integrates with college scheduling. Basic alone is twice as long, not to mention the other training.

Because four weeks in the summer is still enough to prevent you from getting any good internship. The other way gets you more money basically.

Your solution is a bit weird and convoluted. If he's going to spend four weeks in LTC versus twelve+ weeks in the summer, then surely he'll sacrifice more internship opportunities using your plan. Not that internships really matter that much.

It's all very dizzying and I think his plan makes a ton more sense and is easier for a college student to do.
