Oh, no, they had Woodbines while I was there. The phrase "hoyin' a Woodbine doon Northumberland Street" has a special meaning round Durham and Newcastle (and indeed to anybody who reads Viz magazine).
Same goes for the expression "Getting off at the Billy Mill roundabout". It's about the same as "vinegar strokes"."lol internet" ~ AAHZComment
