I tought this thread was bout teh inflation of teh universe...
Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”
The world, in the last three hundred years, has not changed except in that sense.
The simple suggestion of a true change scandalizes and terrifies modern man. -Nicolás Gómez Dávila

I thought this thread was about Hello Kitty becoming more expensive.

                  LOL

fun as ever... it took quite some time but oil prices and current conditions are making the full circle through to the normally unrelated consumer items...

If Canon as a big competitive corporation, producer of tech stuff is rising prices due to "global economic conditions" it is fair to expect that in the second half of 08 most of consumer goods will go up at an unnaturally fast pace... hitting us all collectively in the wallet...

normally those events are not announced, but Canon was nice enough to give it a good poster... so there... let the good times roll

If you want to raise prices, blaming inflation is the way to go.

That is to say, you can raise your prices without your costs having increased by as much, hence meaning you make more profit. Yay!

Agreed looks like a stock form letter attempt to raise prices. No big. They get sent all the time with one pretext or the other for price increase. The question is will it stick i.e. will competitors similarly follow suit.
