And you know the old saying, "When in doubt as to how to make it through an earthquake, first post a new thread on it."

Hearing her creak under the strain tends to make me cautious as I enjoy the rest of the ride.
Ahh yes that always is quite disconcerting

Unfortunately, they didn't include the story about the cat. Some guy out in Mogul (which is the area located above the swarm, west of Reno along I-80 before the border with California) was interviewed about his experience like any other schlep in that part of town. But the main attraction was his cat. It was so terrified after the two +4's on Thursday afternoon that it hadn't come out from under the bed until a few minutes before the 4.7 hit Friday night. Poor thing's back under there again.

              Anyway, yeah. We're f*cked.

Seriously though, we're f*cked. Swarms of quakes of increasing magnitude and occurance over a period of 3 months and counting generally isn't a goode thinge. Magma shifting deep underground is probably what's causing this kind of behaviour. I seriously doubt we're looking at an eruption or even an oozing on the surface, but given the entire state of Nevada is a hotspot for geothermal activity, I imagine kitty is going to be unsettled and hiding under the bed for a while and we're long overdue for a larger quake... I blame all the Californians that have moved here over the past 10 years. Their teeming masses have finally reached critical mass and have brought their damn quakes with them.

Edit: Forgot to mention, our house had some very minor damage: A little piece of the chimney broke off and I think my stepdad found some crack in the foundation had been expanded a little.

All this shaking along the coast could trigger 'the big one', the dreaded '9'. That would be bad.

Your big one beats our big one by far. We'd lose some casinos, you'd lose the entire coastline.

Though, on the plus side, you'd probably take out some Californians too. All we'd manage to do is mix their martinis, James Bond-style.

The section of coast I'm on would either raise or lower. I prefer raise since lower means swimming.
