I may have missed something, but isn't tazers supposed to be a a nonlethal alternative to guns ?

Police are still expected to handle ordinary cases without excess force such as tasers and guns.

Current examples is just a display of police that have become lazy and use unnessecary force because it has become available.

So you, also, advocate fighting it out? The cop smashes the perp's head into the concrete (or vice versa), and now what? We won't even bring the perp possibly being able to take the cop's gun during this scuffle. We won't even think about that possibility.

How are you going to gracefully subdue someone who won't give up? Fire away, because I'm interested in knowing. You might could make some money with this bright idea.

Sloww, what mushrooms are you eating currently ?

You are talking about perps etc, but what if the poor sucker hasn't done anything ? Oups, sorry it wasn't your ass we wanted to beat, but we are assumed to use maximum force despite circumstances - just be glad that the taser is easier to get than the gun.

Subduing people before the invention of tasers was actually possible and that without banging peoples heads into concrete.

Where does the "hasn't done anything" point come from? What makes you bring that up? Not the thread.
From my saying running from a cop is stupid? I'll stand by that opinion.
          I just don't understand.

BTW, wiseguy. I haven't had any shrooms in a HELL of a long time.

Well, there could be a thousand reasons to run from a cop - most not being aware of doing it. That said, and probably off topic, police has for probably a couple of centuries been able to catch "peacefull" purpetrators without using tasers so why not today ?

Problem is that tasers has made police lazy - why run after someone when you can just taze them ?

              Where did I mention this?
I didn't even say I was against tasing in this particular case.

I'm going to have to side with the "monkey at a typewriter" comment I think.
