Don't mix with alcohol. I learnt that the hard way.
Exult in your existence, because that very process has blundered unwittingly on its own negation. Only a small, local negation, to be sure: only one species, and only a minority of that species; but there lies hope. [...] Stand tall, Bipedal Ape. The shark may outswim you, the cheetah outrun you, the swift outfly you, the capuchin outclimb you, the elephant outpower you, the redwood outlast you. But you have the biggest gifts of all: the gift of understanding the ruthlessly cruel process that gave us all existence [and the] gift of revulsion against its implications.

Because grapefruit juice inhibits enzymes responsible for the degradation of alcohol in your system.

Stay drunk. Jesus all mighty, I was on vodka and grapefruit juice one night and took me till the next day to sober up.

Interesting! Could be fun too if you don't have plans...

I wonder what it does to your system though, having booze sloshing around that long.

Grapefruit's good! I started craving it suddenly a few years ago and now I like to treat myself to one every now and then. It's nice in the mornings. I used to have one of those specially turned knives, where the blade curves to one side, so you can separate out the segments.

There's something about sitting on the porch, looking out at the dawn, and eating a grapefruit that appeals to me.

                            I've become a radish addict.

I started out eating one bunch per week. That increased to two, then to three, and now to four. I could probably eat several bunches more...but that would be silly.
