A few days ago, an officemate of mine & I were examining U.S. coins, debating which was a dollar, which was a quarter and which was a nickle. Each coin has so many versions, it's nearly impossible for us to tell the difference. We pity the poor tourist who has to deal with our money.

Bottom line: We want to switch over to the Euro.

when i was in the US for apolycon i was just handing out all my coins to the cashier and saying "pick what's required"

which brings to me another question: why don you have any colors in the bank notes?

Yet another reason for us to switch to the Euro.

            It's not customary.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

I don't care. Different denominations should be different colors AND different sizes.

Zkribbler: There's talk of union busting in the airline thread.

Well, you see the purple 5 in this one, right?

They are adding color to the traditional "greenback".

I like how the article seems to try to imply that British coins were designed by some young guy for little amounts and the United States Bureau of Engraving and Printing spends so much, like making new bill designs is all the Bureau of Engraving and Printing does.

Though about the coins... how in the Hell is the 50p coin supposed to work with vending machines?
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Like the 20p which is the same shape they have a constant rolling diameter.
