The universe is kind of a bummer

Born into this world we have no notion of what's up. When we learn what's up we learn that we will die, that many people are born into difficult circumstances, that there are too many of us. We could have been born into a world, a universe, without any of these and many other things, war, nukes, black holes, earthquakes, whatever, but we weren't.

I don't want her to ever learn these things because I don't want them to be real. I want the world to be good, and not a bummer so that she won't be disappointed. However, that's not in my power, is it? ...and that's a bummer too.

It could have been anything, why this?
