Mark Penn, Chief Strategist of Clinton Campaign, Steps Aside

Mark Penn, the architect of much of Senator Hillary Rodham
Clinton's presidential campaign, has agreed to step aside as
chief strategist in the wake of revelations that he lobbied
on behalf of a trade treaty with Colombia that Mrs. Clinton
      opposes.

They didn't know they'd be caught!

Penn will still be Hillary's pollster and strategist. The only difference is now the checks will go to his "company's" address instead of Penn's home address. That's what happened to the guy Hillary "fired" who got caught suggestion black people are all crack dealers. She pretends she fires them then hires their new company instead to do the same job.

Something like 70% of people reported to be murdered for being trade unionists are from Colombia. This is one of the few free trade agreements that I have serious problems with.

And Penn is a douche in general, and it would've been better for every Democrat if he were never involved in Clinton's campaign.

DKos does a nice postmortem analysis of why it's good (for Hillary anyway) that Penn has been shown to the reception room (he's still part of the campaign, so he hasn't been shown the door yet). Penn is no stranger to losing: He's 0-13 since 1996; Bill's reelection campaign was his last win. Hillary will make 14 straight campaign loses.

Oh, god... Hillary is off lying again. Now she's claiming she's always been anti-war and was against the war before Obama despite the fact that she voted for the war. She just can't stop lying. It's almost pathological.

They don't hope it. They know it. They just sometimes overestimate how well they can manipulate us, because they themselves are often quite stupid (and their staffers are, after all, Americans as well).

The trick isn't to break some eggs to make an omelette, it's convincing the eggs to break themselves in order to aspire to omelettehood.
