What's the Closest You've Been to George W. Bush?
Yesterday G. W. Bush visited Croatian capital of Zagreb, where I live. He arrived just about when I was finished with work. The city was full of police.
They closed the street via which he was about to arrive. I was there with a buddy and just as we arrived limousines passed us by and I noticed some people in one waving at us, so I waved back.
Apparently most people beside the road were just walking because the public transportation was shut down and others were waiting for police to let them cross the street. There wasn't a crowd and I didn't see anyone waving.
Afterwards we went to get that beer I mentioned, which turned into two, three and more. Many a toast was made for good health of mr. Bush. While I was drinking in the old city, Bush was holding a speech to selected politicians perhaps 300 meters from there.
So I could say that after he first passed about four meters from me, we then spent part of the evening together, kind of

Later when I walked home I passed by the hotel he was in. It was funny. A policeman every ten meters and in the streets young people walking around, many of them high in spirits.
