Doing your own laundry
My son is going to start doing his own pretty soon.
A good skill for him to know......
Especially at college. The laundrymat is a great pickup place. A lot of women really like men that will do their own laundry.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

Every guy does his own laundry in college. The only time I tried to hit on a girl in a college laundromat she spilled Tide on herself and I was like "Let me clean that up for you" resulting in a disciplinary write up and 3 hours of alcohol education.

Sounds like a good way to break it to him, that its time to start doing your own laundry.

In the older days, I think you're correct that almost every guy did his own laundry in college, but these days I'm not so sure. A lot of my daughters friends never seem to do their own laundry and just bring it home every three months for their mothers to do it. A sad comentary on today's youth. By daughter brings her's home but at least she washes it herself.
And I seem not to see the coralation between "let me clean that up" and 3 hours of alcohol education

Hmm, I guess it depends on how often you go home. I used the campus laundery as did msot other people I knew... although a decent amount took theirs home.

Well a lot of people do their laundry every 1-2 weeks in college, I think. And if you're out of state there's no way you're going home that often to get your parents to do it.
Actually I should have been more clear: the 'let me clean that up for you' only got me a trip to the dorm prefect for 'making someone uncomfortable.' I showed up to the meeting drunk hence the other alcohol education videos I had to endure.
When I'm home (at Durham) I tend to do washing when I have enough to fill the drum, as I mainly have dark clothes (the few whites that I have I do once a week), so I do about 3-4 washes over the course of two weeks (depending on how much it rains mainly, the more it rains the more clothes I get through.)
When I'm at my parents over the holidays I don't do the washing, I just sort it into the appropriate catagories.
Cockney, same here, space to hand stuff is always a premium, and living in damp student accomodatin does tend to increase the amount of time it takes stuff to dry...
