Summary of the Helios crash:

Pilots didn't check their checklist to make sure pressurization is set to "AUTO".
Pilots ignored warning beeping at 10,000 feet that the craft was not pressurized.
Pilots ignored warning beeping and flashing lights at 14,000 feet that craft was not pressurized.
They called the ground engineers which told them "Are you set to pressurization 'AUTO'?"
To which they replied something about asking if their engines are overheating?
Then they passed out fro lack of oxygen.

A flight attendant with ~300 hours of flight experience took a portable oxygen tank out and sat on his ass for an hour before entering the cockpit to do something. Just in time for the plane to run out of fuel and crash.

Helios was not a Greek company. Also, the pilot was East German.

if you do more research you might find that the pilot had friends in greece so your original argument would be somewhat true as well
