Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”
The world, in the last three hundred years, has not changed except in that sense.

No, actually they hate eachother. Each trying to destroy the other in the endless struggle that holds the universe together.

So then they're a team like say... Kobe and Shaq were a team?

Science is a religion, in many ways. Both have things that seemingly provide proof if you want to accept it, and both are really, really good at predicting some horrible event that never seems to happen.

NO, that would in no way be akin to a "religion." It would be akin to believing in Bigfoot, but believing in Bigfoot does not make one a Bigfootist monk, or whatever, and it certainly does not create a religion of Bigfoot!

I am not trying to suggest that atheism is actually a religion, in the sense the word is typically used - although in some areas it is remarkably close. I am trying to suggest that Atheists who denigrate religious believers because of their unfounded belief in God, are no better off, because they have an unfounded belief in (no God). Unless and until God is proven or disproven, neither side is any better.

So you are saying that beliving in something that you can't prove exists is the same as not believing in something you can't prove exists?

Yes, there is no way of disproving the existance of a single diety, or of multiple dieties, but then, there are many things (like bigfoot, unicorns, magic, little green men) that can't be disproven either. I don't believe in Bigfoot, unicorns, little green men, or magic, or gods. There is something to be said for consistency of belief.

Just that science is way better at doing that.
