Well it would have kicked it if the guy trampling it was a terrorist... it does not attack good American citizens

That thing wouldn't last a week on Mars...

As it is now, sure it wouldn't...

The goal was to make it walk and stand as best as possible, not to see if it last on mars atmosphere.

It has nothing to do with atmosphere and everything to do with power requirements.

                  Solar panels. Done.

Now what about the fact that there is no sun block? You think that doesn't hurt plastics, wires and such?

                    I WANT ONE.

Can mine have a camera attached with a glowing red laser sight?

And of course it looks lifelike. Life solved the mechanics of walking eons ago.
Exult in your existence, because that very process has blundered unwittingly on its own negation. Only a small, local negation, to be sure: only one species, and only a minority of that species; but there lies hope. [...] Stand tall, Bipedal Ape. The shark may outswim you, the cheetah outrun you, the swift outfly you, the capuchin outclimb you, the elephant outpower you, the redwood outlast you. But you have the biggest gifts of all: the gift of understanding the ruthlessly cruel process that gave us all existence [and the] gift of revulsion against its implications.

You'd probably need several RTGs to back up those solar panels. The mars rovers move very very slowly because of their meager solar power production. I'm sure this form of locomotion would be even less efficient and require even slower movement.

cool as all hell though. Probably intended for combat environments.

Do you know anything about this stuff at all?

Solar panels already provide barely enough power for the Mars rovers.

I was thinking more about a Solar recharging platform that unfolds after it lands, of course.
