Stealing a blog programmer's IP is hurting pirates? He's not a pirate (necessarily, we don't know his views on such), nor is he attempting to aid or abet the pirates... he's just a programmer.

The site hosted Shareaza, case closed, it is a thief hideout. If I can attack a thief stealing my groceries, they can knock off a site that robs them blind every day.

Also it's not proved anyone hijacked their site from the RIAA or MPAA or whatever. This is kind of important, there was a 'settlement.' The only source on this is a site called 'Torrent Freak' for gods sake.

Once again I am amazed nerd thieves go to any length to steal from good hardworking companies, and then frame them and overreact whenever they try to protect their IP in very, very minor ways, considering the massive losses done to them by robbers.

If you think about it, the MPAA/RIAA have it completely backwards. If I steal your groceries, you had them but now you don't. If I "steal" music or movies, I'm actually making another copy available for distribution. I think the studios and record companies should be paying me to download stuff. HD space costs money as well, so perhaps an ongoing rental fee would be applicable too.

If you're going to campaign against something, you shouldn't engage in acts that are what you decry.

Don't complain when someone hacks your site if you're willing to install rootkits on your paying customers' computers.

It's craven, and destroys your credibility. It's why I support the artists, not the record companies. It's why Indie music and alternative distribution methods are succeeding.

This is also why it's coming out that the RIAA and MPAA have been grossly exaggerating their losses.

Think outside the box. If I'm taking the time and trouble to look for music or movies, download them, store them on my hard drive, and make them available to other people, I should be compensated. As for a revenue stream for the companies, I have 2 words for you: Google Ads.

So let's take the prostitute example. Say I did duplicate one. Now let's say that I drug the duplicate, tie her down, and tattoo a corporate logo on her forehead, or between her legs. The corporation could have a deal with me and the pimp to share the ad revenue. It's win-win.
