  • Do you go Pogo?

Pogo Possum, that is--the long-running comic strip by Walt Kelly, cited by Bill Watterson as one of his three favorite strips growing up. It's a mix of political commentary and lowbrow slapstick, the sort that ages well. A pity all the collections are out of print. I've only read the few my dad has.

I especially love the cowbirds, with their highbrow revolutionary rhetoric undermined by their hypocritical thieving ways. They remind me of more than a few polytubbies.

Pogo was a failed gaming site. I do not Pogo.

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned
