Actually most people they interviewed said they were monosexual. They merely said that they had a thought or experience that they considered homosexual. Just becuase you thought about having sex with the same sex doesn't mean you are bi. If you think about it all the time then maybe. This study seems pretty stupid.

In the animal kingdom, there are many examples of species where homosexuality is observed but not bisexuality. This (as well as some stuff I read about genes) suggests that bisexuality does not arise naturally but is rather a sociological construct. Which means the whole continuum idea is BS.

Additionally, it is obvious that since you have homosexuals and heterosexuals, that you will have the confused and the hedonists who would be in practice bisexuals. At the level bisexuality is obvserved, would be in agreement with this postulation.

Indeed that may very well be true, but on the other hand there are species where bisexuality is common, lets say the bonobo. The real debate is what humans are “biologically” bisexual or not.

I’d perhaps phrase it as an overwhelming bias of being attracted to people of the opposite sex.

2 would be a strong bias

And 3 would be no bias in sexual attraction

The default scientific theory would be that sexuality arises by the same mechanism across species.

This would incline one to put animal species of the bisexual sort into 'hedonist' category and hypothesize that they are not naturally bisexual.

As I said, it is pretty easy to see how bisexuality can arise from a naturally heterosexual populace. How can (exclusive) monosexuality arise from a bisexual populace (without social controls, in otherwords in the animal kingdom).

Also, among many groups where bisexuality is observed (humans and some animals), bisexuality is observed to increase when the preferred sexual partner is not available.
