    The thing is I don't see the need to legally persecute two consenting adults for ****ing each other. Regardless of whom they are. I do think them having children should be legally discouraged.


    I mean why the hell does the state need to meddle in who people f***?1 In today’s world of contraception there really is no reason for it. Poly seems too be so hypocritical about this. I mean look at France, ****ing your sister is not illegal there since Napoleon did away with it 200 years ago.


    Is incest the norm? No.
    Is it accepted as normal? No.
    But they don’t leagly persecute them for ****ing.

        Here is a thought Kid, what if the following is true...

        Some researchers hypothesize that humans have a kin recognition ability that functions in part to enable incest avoidance between close relatives, thereby protecting the gene pool of the family or tribe from excessive damage by inbreeding; and, that this kin recognition system may form a biological basis for social and psychological prohibitions against incest.
        ... then people who want to have sex with relatives must have a damaged mechanism. Perhaps due to genetic mutation.


        I mean they both can't help themselves right? Lets say they don't have the psychological mechanism to distinguish, at the subconscious level, their sister from any other woman. Now this doesn’t mean they want to have sex, I mean she can still be ugly and unattractive to him. Also they may find her attractive but not **** her for the same reason you don't **** your best friends wife, since you feel it is wrong or because you feel someone will kick your ass if you did it.

        But those who do decide to **** her, and if she wants to **** him as well, then they should not be legally persecuted. Is that truly so disturbing to your moral convictions Kid?

          None of this has to do with my moral convictions. I simply claimed that if someone is ****ing their sister they are mentally ill or retarded. Their mental illness may cause them to act immorally or sociopathically. But that has nothing to do with my argument.

                  But seriously in the absence of a divine law giver, what is sick about someone having incestuous relationships. Further more why is this so wrong it deserves prosecution by law? I mean I get the eugenic policy to minimise the creation of such offspring, but the act itself does not carry anything inherently unethical.


                  You can perhaps make a very strong case for parents and children since we may have a biological need to imprint onto someone and the need to have an "instructor to life" free of sexual or other motivations to manipulate you. But how do you argue siblings? Especially those who haven’t seen each other since they where 4 years old?

                        And since when is someone a dumbass for asking why something is wrong? For demanding some intellectual integrity in the realm of supposed “morality”? For demanding, that, God-forbid, logic could be applied to solve ethical dilemmas?

                        I am arguing this since I want to know what Kids ethical system, if he has one figured out is. The greatest mental achievement is consistency between all the opinions you hold, a full framework of rules of action and reaction that are guided by bare instinct and social pressures.


                        Good & Evil are not proper concepts! I state this again as I have many times. We must overcome Good & Evil go beyond it. If we do not then Atheists at least the smart ones who do not lie to themselves on a basic level, will become “evil” (the irony eh).

And if so how do you differentiate which natural urges to suppres and which not?

                              I've already said, it's not really an ethical dilemma. It's just a simple fact that something is wrong when people want to mess with their sister. Honestly I don't see how people can not see a problem there.
