  • Sarkozy: Get lost, you stupid b*******

Samedi, Nicolas Sarkozy inaugurait le Salon de l'agriculture à Paris. Alors qu'il s'apprêtait à serrer la main d'un visiteur, ce dernier le repousse. « Touche moi pas ! Tu me salis ! ». Le chef de l'État s'énerve : « Casse-toi alors pauvre con ! ».

in translation from theregister / the telegraph)
Sarko got a bit stroppy when said pleb refused to shake his hand and insisted: "Oh no, don't touch me." The Telegraph's transcript of the spat continues:

    Sarko: "Get lost, then."
    Pleb: "You disgust me."
Sarko: "Get lost, you stupid bastard."

Ooooh, hard, he called him a bastard.

This is how a proper politician would handle it

Now that's pure gold. You see how his right arm is as if it's in a pocket? THat dude is cool, calm and a true sucker puncher. Of course you'll be punching when others are kind of holding you back. That's when you need to unleash the backstab... otherwise it's just not the same now is it?

Europe rules. Let me tell you, we have the best leaders. They fight, they call people bastards,... if only Berlusconi had that physical side in him, I'd support him until my death.

They always say politicians are diplomatic, as in they don't say anything. Now that someone says what's on their mind, it's suddenly a problem?

              I support direct talking

I guess he's still pissed off about the sheriff. I totally understand and support his sneak attack.

I think it's safe to assume Sarkozy would have punched the verbal terrorist as well if it was a man - proving frenchmen are gentlemen.

I think "pauvre con" is slightly less offensive than "stupid bastard" but it's hard to find a proper translation.

In any case, what I like about the video is that he is Sarkozy is smiling through the whole thing.

I've seen the translation as "dumb ass" too.

Either way, I heartily support this response.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891
