No, not really. Its really about having our own home. We're tired of being roomates, we want our own house to try and save our kind. The way it is now, we are bound to get assimilated.
Its normal considering we're only 5,000,000 frenchies in an ocean of anglos.

A defendant in Ontario can have a trial in french. Any other minority gets an interpreter. Why? We accomodated the french minority.

Sorry Spec. I've lived through three decades of the separtist BS. I'm not in the mood today.
Would I care? Yes. Both sides would be poorer for it. We would lose one component of our identity (one of many) and Quebec would travel the road to assimilation much quicker, despite the wacky beliefs of the separatists. Only the Newfies would find some benefit if Quebec separates as the drive to Toronto would be a couple hours shorter.
