    • A: Did you know that you can fool the breathalizer test by chewing on activated charcoal tablets?
B: Well, maybe we should change our slogan to "If you must drink and drive, suck charcoal."
C: Won't the police ask about the charcoal in your mouth?
A: Theres not a law against charcoal.
      B + C: Yet.

      • I know embalmer has seen it but apparently the rest of you haven't.

So I don't kill the thread what should be the giveaway for anyone that saw the movie:

"People, what is going on out there? I look down this table, all I see are white flags. Our numbers are down all across the board. Teen smoking, our bread and butter, is falling like a **** from heaven! We don't sell Tic Tacs for Christ's sake. We sell cigarettes. And they're cool and available and addictive. The job is almost done for us! "

            • So the ball is back in my court now (by the way, nice choice there Wezil - it's a shame more people haven't seen it). Well, I'd go with the quote game but I doubt it would work for this movie so I'll stick with the clues:

This movie was orginally released in the late 80's - it was remade by Hollywood in the early 90's. Both versions were directed by the same man.

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

                    ACK!

Well, I have only seen the danish version and it was good primarily due to the actors - if I understand the critics right, the english version fails a bit - it becomes more action than creepy.

                        • Good guesses, but no, so another clue:

The film is about a young couple in love. While on vacation the woman mysteriously disappears and finding out what happened to her becomes the mans obsession (something that does not end well for him).

The movie (the original version, not the remake) was filmed in Amsterdam and the Netherlands.
