It's just a medical fact. They have better drugs for glaucoma and they've even figured out what compound in weed gives you the munchies so cancer patients can restore their appetites without getting high. The problem is the medical marijauna people don't want to buy just that compound because it doesn't get you high. I'm actually for legalizing marijuana but do that on its own merit don't spin a lie about it being needed for medical reasons because it isn't. My friend has a license/ID to buy medicinal marijuana...and the business actually delivers the stuff to his house! (ah, the conveniences of living in San Francisco) 
EDIT: He even tried to tip the deliveryman, but the tip was refused - it is against their business policy.
