  • Question for all those that left Poly...

Why aren't you here anymore? Come on, out with it!

Ha! I got em with that question. They are unable to give a good answer, or any at all it seems.

Depends how you define “Left Poly”?

I ‘left Poly’ years ago in an ideological sense years ago when I realised that most of the posters on this site weren’t actually worth a serious debate with. These days I only come back when I’m bored and fancy tormenting my favourite playthings a little.

But even that’s a bit boring these days as it’s so easy, and some of the best ones have left already.

It is only a matter of time before I truly ‘Leave Forever’.
Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

Because you like listening to that arrogance of asshats, as you can see above?

Sure why not, one of many reasons.

I'm not gone yet. But I'm not here to discuss games anymore, there are much better places for it.

I left for six months when Yo_Yo_Yo_Hey and Stewart Spink were permabanned. And I left for a month when the History subforum was created.

But I'm glad I came back. We now have a Apolyton House and will soon have another.

I've left for periods of time over the years. Sometimes life gets in the way of Poly.

I'm pretty inactive right now because I only seem to want to post when I'm working.

I've never left. Yet each year, there are fewer and fewer posters that I remember back from the days when we were young and brash. Soon, it'll be just me.
Exult in your existence, because that very process has blundered unwittingly on its own negation. Only a small, local negation, to be sure: only one species, and only a minority of that species; but there lies hope. [...] Stand tall, Bipedal Ape. The shark may outswim you, the cheetah outrun you, the swift outfly you, the capuchin outclimb you, the elephant outpower you, the redwood outlast you. But you have the biggest gifts of all: the gift of understanding the ruthlessly cruel process that gave us all existence [and the] gift of revulsion against its implications.
                          -Richard Dawkins

Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”
The world, in the last three hundred years, has not changed except in that sense.
The simple suggestion of a true change scandalizes and terrifies modern man. -Nicolás Gómez Dávila
