  • My countries foreign policy is held hostage by a &%%$ #&a$%&!!!!

Dr. Dimitrij Rupel Slovenia's foreign minister, can you see the f****** evil just dripping from him?

The guy is impossible to get rid of, if you vote for a different party, he'll just switch sides. And the party will accept him because influential lobbies support him not to mention the support he enjoys from foreign powers. He is an opportunist extraordinaire (no, in a purely egoistical not-good-for-the-country way ).

He can't solve problems with Croatia, Austria or Italy. Heck which neighbor of our country does that leave? Hungary? To top things off, he has no spine. I have no illusions about the proper place of a small country, but goddammit, when it comes to kissing a*** he goes beyond & above the call of duty.

Don't worry I'll stop boring you in a minute. So I'l just lay out the thing that got my nerve as it is. Apparently we have received some strong "guidelines" from the great US of A on what to do doing our presidency... and certain documents* seem to indicate that we have helplessly agreed. I would propose that the presidency of the EU be striped from us, if it could make any headway against the entrenched bureaucracy of Europe. IF we can't have at least some independent foreign policy, why can't we try being some other country's vassal for a change? I'm sure the French or the Germans wouldn't mind a little country that would follow its instructions. Heck why not even Happy Putin for a change?!

I mean what kind of unimportant underdeveloped spineless &#%$ s***hole would be America’s frikkin lapdog on every single issue? Its goddamm yes-man?!

Sometimes I'm grateful that Slovenia isn't a influential country.
But still, I need some love. :better crying:

    Rant over.

*the first link I found, yes I know, I'll get a proper newspaper when I feel like it.

I think the US should try being Slovenia's lapdog for a while. I bet being another country's lapdog would be good for our image.

      "opportunist extraordinaire"

In America this is a virtue. Better that than some dysfunctional parking his lazy ass in some government subsided apartment.

"The guy is impossible to get rid of, if you vote for a different party, he'll just switch sides."

your frustration is showing, young padawan. Treasure it as your own and let others reveal theirs to you so you will have the most influence at the end.

That article mentions the American National Safety Council

Drobnic, together with the Slovenian ambassador in the USA Samuel Zbogar, met with the members of the American National Safety Council and the US Department of State, Daniel Fried, the assistant of Condoleezza Rice in charge of European issues, among others. Fried invited Slovenia to be the first to recognize Kosovo, stating that the USA believes that 6 members of the EU will not do the same, unlike America.

There is no governmental Nation Safety Council. However, here is the NSC's website: http://www.nsc.org/

          Notice it's .org not .gov.

          ACK!
Don't try to confuse the issue with half-truths and gorilla dust!

Is that it? Us asking you to recognize Kosovo and you agreeing = America's lapdog?

This is a random newspaper link; I haven't bothered yet to find a proper one, I can't vouch for its accuracy.

BTW If you read that short paragraph you'll see that they didn't claim that it was.

I had a thread a few weeks ago in which I wondered why the Slovenian government is declaring the Western Balkans and the Kosovo issue a priority, since we have other vital interest. I wondered why we are wasting our effort on the issue and wasting our presidency, since we should have be trying to get some of the EU's problems fixed.

Giving America control over your presidency= America's lapdog

I said not in a good-for-the-country way, but in a accept-bribes way. Anyhow he is incompetent, so we are worse off than with a lazy ass.

PS I do find it interesting that almost only Americans responded in this thread.

almost only eh? If there had been no correlation between US citizenship and likelihood of a posting a response how many of the 5 respondents would you have expected to be Americans? Just one?

Well I suppose it's good to be easily intrigued.
