I have a strange story to tell.
A year ago, I was in Washington D.C. watching a documentary about an ambitious building project in the Swedish town of Malmö. It was entitled "The Socialist, The Architect, and the Twisted Tower" (Sossen, Arkitekten och Det Skruvade Huset). The video itself was an interesting look at the troubles of building artistic projects.
But what really got me was the end song. It was a whimsical, lilting melody sung in slightly accented English. I did a lyrics search and found nothing, so I assumed (correctly) that it must be a Swedish singer. I kept humming the tune for about a week, and when my friends asked who the artist was, I couldn't tell them.
A year later, I found out who she was. The artist is Cecilia Nordlund and her site is right here.
On that page, click on the upper right hand corner (WG Radio) and go to song number 5, "Take Me Higher".
The best part is I emailed Cecilia Nordlund to let her know how much I liked her music. She emailed me back with an .mp3 of that song!
