  • Help Whaleboy buy a new car

Ok so I've grown very bored of my Mazda 323F. It's a 2 litre TDI 5 door hatch, fantastic economy on long distance burns but when it's cold and I'm doing city driving, I'm practically ejaculating fuel out of the back.

So, I've got £10K to spend, I'm looking for a car under three years old, although obviously new is preferable.

I don't want anything bigger than what I've currently got. I don't want an Audi because I actually quite like Poland and I don't want a BMW because I would prefer to have people let me out at junctions. I'm not too bothered about engine size but obviously anything smaller than a 1.4 will blow... fuel efficiency is a big deal for me.

    So, Apolytonianites, share thy wisdom!

Com'on. With a BMW you don't need people to let you out. It says in the BMW driver's manual that you always have right of way.

              Ah!

However, what would I do about those irritating 22 year old males driving Mazda diesels who insist on overtaking lorries on the M1 in the outside lane, not a jot over 85mph, who slow down to 70 when I, as a future BMW driver, start tailgating them?

Any thoughts on the SEAT Leon?

                That could be a problem:

They ran a feature a while ago on 1970's supercars (including a lambo) for less than £10K (my budget). The results were... discouraging. Not one of them were able to make it to the Spearmint Rhino.

Toyota truck. Depending on the size you want, either Tacoma or Tundra.

New is never preferable. Jus5t leaving the stealership parking lot with a new car will drop your value by 10-20%.

I suggest a 2 year old car for best value money wise. Still on warranty and a 2 year car would likely have 350000km on it, which is nothing, really.

The problem is, I am not well placed to suggest any cars because I do not know what cars you have in the UK.

                          Do you have any preferences?

One good advice I can tell you, stay away from american cars.
