Just to clarify my neutrality a little more. As the family geek/hardware person I've been asked for recommendations many times and I've told 2 family members to get macs. Purely because I know they only use computers for web/email/msn/music. If those are your only purposes and you're likely to ask me for tech support I'll push you to a mac every time just because I know there's a lower likelihood of you breaking anything by being a complete idiot.

For myself or anyone who knows not to click every next button or ok button, i'll recommend a windows pc.
